What is LoRaWAN?

LoRaWAN is a Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) networking protocol designed to wirelessly connect battery operated ‘things’ to the internet in regional, national or global networks, and targets key Internet of Things (IoT) requirements such as bi-directional communication, end-to-end security, mobility and localization services.

So, how does this work?

Building upon Helium, our goal is to provide you with easy access to LoRaWAN. LoRaWAN devices are already widely available (for a list of sample sensors, click here).

Why LoRaWAN?

LoRaWAN is great in a few aspects, foremost it’s super low power draw. This allows for maintenance frequency to be minimized. Furthermore, unlike for example cell service IOT, there is no fixed monthly fee, you only pay for what you use, as simple as that, no overhead.

FAQ:

But how about regional coverage?

As our product is built upon the Helium network, coverage is available wherever there are Helium hotspots, a full map of Helium hotspots can be found here.
